It is there. And it is better than anytime before.

CrashPoint 0.3.3.62

Ok, network is not implemented yet. But we discovered the hidden power in DelphiX, our graphics and sprite engine (See last news entry).
We decided to make this release because the changes improved the performance a lot - and surely because it is a long, long time ago since the last release.
Multiple weapons, better collision detection, new map format (zipped xml) and a brand new map editor are only the tip of the iceberg. Have a look on the changelog to see all changes.

More improvements 2006-08-10

You still have to wait till the next release of "CrashPoint - The experiment failed".
Thats because we currently have to change a lot of things:

  • A new GUI will be made. Thats because the combination of the VCL library and DirectX takes a lot of speed. (With VCL: 67 FPS, Without 700 FPS!!!).
  • Its the same with collisions. The collision engine of DelphiX is more for little games. For example with collisions: max. 50 FPS, without 200 FPS!
So the system requirements will be lower than the ones we have now.
Network has also to be written. The map format has been changed and a new, professional Map-Editor has been made (see Screenshot gallery).
We will include scripts into our maps, so that you will be able to extend the game easily.
So, thats all for the moment.

No release 2006-07-03

There's bad and good news about CrashPoint. It will be a little time until the next release. Thats because I currently try to create the network interface. You probably will be able to play CrashPoint over Network in a few weeks.

But here you can see a screenshot of the new network game dialog.

New features 2006-06-21

There will be a new release of CrashPoint - The experiment failed in a few days. There will be new major features:

  • The support of multiple weapons, for example:
    • "Normal" gun
    • A P90
    • A Rocket Launcher
    • Another Machine Gun
  • You will be able to create and load profiles for your controler configuration
  • You can now use multiple gamepads/joysticks.

New version (0.3.2.30) 2006-06-18

A new release of Crashpoint - The Experiment Failed is now online. New features in this version are:

  • Splitscreen Support
  • Joystick Support
  • 2-4 Players can now play on one PC
  • Free adjustable controls

But there is one bad thing about this release: The graphic alpha effekts are disabled. But I am working on it!
